DESCRIPTION:\n\nDebate Events:  Parliamentary Debate\nThree Divisions:\n1)  Novice\n2)  JV\n3)  Varsity\nWhen:  Saturday\, October 7th\, 2017\nCheck in starts @ 8:30 am in the PAC Lobby.\nAll students will compete for 5 Preliminary rounds\, followed by Best Speaker awards at ca. 5 pm.\nWe will have food & drink for sale (Cash Only): Baked Goods\, Fruit\, Snacks\, Pizza\, Sandwiches\, Coffee & Assorted Drinks\n\n\nRegistration Deadline:  Wednesday\, 10/4/17 at 9 pm\n\nAlready have an account? This requirement is in addition to the judging requirement.\n\nWhy?  Our tournaments are parent-run and can only be successful with the help of volunteers.\n\n\nJudging Requirement:  Each Debater needs to have 1 adult\, who will be available to judge all rounds.\nGuardian Requirement:  Each Debater needs to have 1 adult present\, who will be responsible for them while at the tournament. The Guardian does not have to be a parent and except for “Hired Judges”\, the Judge and Guardian can be the same person.\nDebaters\, Judges and Guardians (if not Judge) need to be present for the entire Debate Tournament. No late starts or leaving early\, even for lunch!\n\n\nClick for Deadlines\, Discounts\, Fees & Payment Instructions\n\n\nCheck or Google Wallet Payments by Monday\, 10/2:  Apply a $5 discount per student.\nLate Payment Fee:  $25 after payment deadline\nReally Late Payment Fee:  $35 if paid at Check-In\nAdministrative Fee:  $10 for any payment follow-ups/corrections.\n\n\nParticipation Fee:\n\n\nWhy?  To help cover the cost of the tournament including the awards\, supplies and use of facilities.\n$60 Participation Fee\nFirst Timer Discount (per student): $15 off\n$60 – $15 = $45\nEarly Reg & Pay Discount (per student) – Register & Pay by 10/2: $20 off\n$60 – $20 = $40     or     $60 – $35 = $25\nRegistration fee NOT refundable after Monday\, 10/2/17\nParticipation Fee due on:  Thursday\, 10/5/17 at 9 pm\n\n\nDropping Out:\n\n\nDrop with a Full Refund by:  Monday\, 10/2/17 at 11:59 pm\nRefunds will be processed within 14 days after the tournament.\nPlease inform the Tournament Director: Brier Buchalter and if applicable your child’s debate partner’s parents\, in case your child can’t participate after all.  It affects tournament planning on various levels (partnering debaters\, preparing materials\, pairing the first round\, ordering trophies\, etc.) – Thank you!\n\nHired Judges:\n\nWhy? An option for those that can’t fill the judging requirement.\nWe have a limited number of Hired Judges.\n\nThere is NO Guarantee that we will have extra judges to cover your judging requirement.\nOnly the first 20 requests are guaranteed.\n\n\nPrerequisite: Please indicate your request on the registration form by Wednesday\, 10/4/17 at 9 pm\nJudges can NOT be hired on the day of the tournament!\nHired Judges can NOT be Guardians!\nHired Judge Request: $160\nDiscount – Request & Pay by Monday\, 10/2: $50 off\n($160 – $50 = $110)\nLast Minute Request: Friday\, October 6th  –  $190 (non-refundable)\nEmergency Request: Saturday\, October 7th  –  $240 (non-refundable)\nHired Judge Fee due by: Thursday\, 10/5/17 at 9 pm\nCancel Hired Judge Request for a Full Refund by:  Monday\, 10/2/17 at 9 pm\nHired Judge fee NOT refundable after Monday\, 10/2/17\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTournament Debate Practice (optional & free):\n\n\nTournament Debate Practice (optional & free):\n\nOpportunity for debaters to review and practice before the tournament.\nPrerequisite:  Completed Tournament Registration\nWhen:  Friday\, 10/6/17 from 6:15 – 7:30 pm\n\nScholarships:\n\n\n\n\n\nWe are happy to offer up to Full scholarships helping with the\n\n\n\nRegistration Fee\, Judging Requirement\, Lunch\, Needed Materials\, Clothes\n\n\n\n\n\n\nOur scholarships are 100% financial need based and handled confidentially.\n\n\n\n\nWe never\, EVER turn away a debater to financial consideration.
